Sin in a Casserole Dish

Yep. I’ve been at it again. I love making recipes I’ve found on Pinterest! The more I cook, the more my confidence grows. I like it. My husband likes it. My family likes it. My co-workers like it. This Pinterest thing is turning out to be a good thing, not just a time suck with a whole lotta drama like Facebook. I keep saying I’m done with Facebook but can’t seem to pull the trigger. We’ll see.

So, the latest was a tasty little sinful treat called Cheesy Biscuit Bread. There wasn’t much in the way of directions, so I just melted a stick (or two?) of butter in a shallow bowl and then added about 2 cups or so of shredded cheddar cheese that and mixed it up. I cut the biscuits from the can into fourths and microwaved about 6 or so pieces of bacon until it was not quite done. Then I used tongs to dip the biscuit pieces into the butter & cheese mixture and then to a glass baking dish. After that, I sprinkled my little bacon addition on top and baked for 20-25 minutes. The result was decadent and deliciously easy. I almost felt like I should go ahead and head to confession after eating it! But I did not.

Something about denying ourselves meat on Fridays during Lent makes the meat we eat the other six days (if any) taste so much better. Funny how that works, right? 🙂
