Cake Batter Rice Krispie Treats

Yummy, yummy, yummy!

Three children and I’ve never made Rice Krispie Treats until today — crazy, right? Well, it was worth the wait… and the cake mix added makes them so deliciously sweet.

I saw the idea on Pinterest.  I think I must have thought making these was going to be harder or more complicated than it really was. It was really easy, albeit messy.

Ingredients

 

5 1/2 – 6 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal

3 Tablespoons of butter

2/3 cup funfetti cake mix

1 (10 oz.) bag of mini marshmellows

Melt the butter in a large saucepan. Make sure it’s a LARGE saucepan. I didn’t.

It made things more difficult than they needed to be.

Where was I? Ah, melt the butter, add the marshmellows melting on low heat. Keep stirring and slowly add in the dry cake mix to your liking. I used 2/3 cup — that might be too sweet for some folks. Then fold in the cereal and once everything is good and mixed up, press into a dish. I used a huge 10×13 and it worked great. Oh, and wait about 30 minutes or so before you cut into squares.

Delicious!
